- Following the February 2022 shooting death of her ex-husband, Microsoft executive Jared Bridegan, Shanna Gardener Fernandez was arrested and indicted on charges of first degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, solicitation to commit murder, and child abuse according to Fox News. The Florida State Attorney's office plans on seeking the Death Penalty. Shanna and Jared divorced in 2015, and went on to battle over custody of their twins and finances up to his murder. Jared was fatally shot in front of his two year old daughter that he shared with his current wife, Kirsten. One month after Jared's death, Shanna, her parents, her husband Mario Fernandez and the twins were seen on a spring break vacation to Club Med Sandpiper Bay. Following the vacation, according to Fox News, Shanna cut off her twins from all contact with their half-siblings. Kristen told Fox News "she's taking the twins on vacation immediately after with Mario, with her parents, with people we felt very strongly involved in this. it's sick." As the one year anniversary of Jared's death approached, Shanna abruptly moved her twins to Washington state following a press release declaring police were close to an arrest in Jared's murder. - Wednesday Evening a Cresskill, New Jersey man allegedly beat his step mother to death with a baseball bat. The man was identified as John Daniels Jr. and he was arrested by police the following day, according got Fox News. The police arrived at 6:45pm and found the body of 48 year old Irma Daniels deceased of apparent blunt force trauma. He was ordered to be held without bail until his hearing next week. He is to be charged with first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, lying to police, in addition to other charges. Irma, originally from Russia, had a doctorate from the Finance Academy in Moscow and an MBA in marketing. - On Monday, 19 year old Mackenzie Shirilla was convicted of 4 counts of murder and other charges after the death of her boyfriend, Dominic Russo 20, and his friend Davion Flannegan, 19 in July of 2022. On July 21, 2022, Makenzie Drove at a speed of 100 mph into a brick wall killing both young men. There was no jury in the trial. According to Fox News there was evidence proving that Mackenzie had driven the same route just days before in an attempt to test drive the course she would take. According to the judge the most compelling evidence was surveillance footage showing Shirilla intentionally accelerating on Alameda drive before crashing into the brick wall. Cuyahoga County Judge Nancy Margaret Russo said "her actions were controlled, methodical, deliberate, intentional and purposeful. this was not reckless driving. this was murder." Judge Russo also said Shirilla was a "literal hell on wheels." Her sentence carries a multiple life sentence with the possibility of parole after 15 years. - Michael Manis, 71, of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey was arrested last Saturday for the Murder of his wife Judith. According to Fox News, Manis allegedly admitted to police on Saturday that he suffocated his wife with a pillow and then went to great lengths to hide his crime. Police believe the murder took place on Friday, after which Manis hid his wife's jewelry in the ceiling of their basement, ransacked their home, and hid other valuables of theirs behind a dumpster at a near by 7-11. at 5:01 pm Saturday, Manis allegedly told police " he returned to his Hasbrouck Heights home, found it ransacked and that his wife was "possibly beaten" and dead' according to the probable cause affidavit. There was no motive identified for the murder.
