- Timothy Bliefnick The one time Family Feud contestant who mocked his wife, Rebecca Postle Bliefnick was sentenced to life in prison this week on 2 counts of murder and one count of home invasion for the murder of his estranged wife Rebecca this past February. He was found guilty on May 31st. Bliefnick, broke through the second story window of Rebecca's home and shot her 14 times utilizing a silencer, leaving her to be found by her father on February 23rd. During the course of the investigation, Police found over 2 dozen shell casings in the basement of his home that matched the casings found at the crime scene. IT was also discovered that he had done a web search looking for information on how to commit this crime, break into a home with a crowbar and the response time of police. Prior to her death, according to Foxnews, Rebecca had texted her sister saying that if something ever happened to her, it would be because of Timothy. The two were in the midst of a bitter divorce and custody battle over their 3 boys. Her sister, Sarah Reilly, testified in court that Rebecca said "I am putting this in writing that I am fearful he will somehow harm me, come after me or will try to [do] something to me that takes me away from the kids or the kids away from me." Rebecca was a nurse devout catholic, and well loved in her community of Quincy, Illinois. As a nurse she received a Daisy Award for her service. - There has been a second arrest in the murder of Imani Roberson. This past Tuesday, Imani's brother-in-law, 28 year old Cedarius Glaze arrested and charged with tampering with evidence, concealment of a dead body, and arson, according to Foxnews. - Herbert Swilley, the husband of Timothy Smith, 59,who was found murdered in his home on March 25th, is considered a suspect in Timothy's murder. Herbert's daughter Jordan is considered a person of interest as well. Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods told Foxnews that investigators believed from the very beginning that the killer was someone who knew Timothy well. Herbert's attorney has stated that, while he spoke to police at the start of the investigation, he will only speak to them again if he is granted immunity in Timothy's death. Police have also been unable to speak to Jordan as well. the Marion County Sheriff's office is calling for the public to come forward with any information that may help the investigation. - The Husband of a woman murdered in 1975 has confessed to her murder after 50 years. The body of Jewell Langford was found on May 3 1975 floating in the Nation River in Eastern Ontario. The Coroner determined that Jewell's, who was unidentified at the time, cause of death was strangulation and her wrists and ankles had been tied prior to her death. Jewell was reported missing in June of 1975 by friends after not being heard from since April 22 of that year. Her belongings and her Cadillac were all at her home she shared with boyfriend, Rodney Nichols in Montreal. Jewwell had moved from her home in Jacksonville, Tennessee to Montreal, Canada in April of 1975. At the time of being reported missing, police interviewed Nichols who, according to Foxnews, claimed that he had come home one evening to find Jewell intoxicated and told him she was going to travel across Canada. The next morning he claimed she was gone but had called him saying she would be back to celebrate his birthday. when police followed up, he said he never heard from her again. Jewell was identified in 2021 following an exhumation of her body in 2018 thanks to the DNA Doe project and the FBI. Police Spoke to Nichols again in 2022 and he changed his story multiple times stating first that she had drowned when their boat capsized in Nation River and before ultimately admitting in July that he had killed her in their home. He said it was time to come clean.
